FLIGHT TRAINING - INSTRUMENT RATING
Few
people seek out the bad weather to go out and fly but that’s
exactly how we prepare you at Rainier Flight Service.
There is no substitute for training in actual IMC conditions
so we try to expose you to as much variety as possible so that
you are a proficient, safe pilot.
Even
if you are a ‘fair weather’ pilot, instrument training statistically
makes you far safer by simply providing you the knowledge and
skills to use the ATC system to its fullest extent.
Some things such as system malfunctions cannot be realistically
duplicated in the airplane. To ensure you are well prepared
to recognize and handle emergency situations we use FAA approved
simulators throughout the training process for an efficient,
cost effective program.
Our
instructors are highly experienced instrument pilots having
flown for airlines in the most challenging weather conditions
on the planet. We use this experience to impart good resource
management and decision-making skills in addition to technical
procedures.

best help reach your goals.

LEARN TO FLY!
“
I took private pilot training in 2009 and instrument training in 2010, both with
Gordon and Brad at Rainier Flight Service. Here are a
few things I am very happy with:
Experience: It's definitely a different feeling
learning from someone with real-world experience. I can see
how the airline training impacts their teaching. It's not
only operational skills, proficiency and knowledge; but most
importantly, the decisions they make. Being a pilot is not
just about the yoke and buttons, but also managing risks,
making decisions under pressure and staying safe. They set
good examples to follow.
Style: Gordon is a very nice man who makes students
feel comfortable while learning. Brad is a very nice man too
when on the ground. Once he is in your plane, get ready to
answer all kinds of questions and handle all kinds of
"situations".... ”
