"We can lift ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves
as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can
be free! We can learn to fly!" – Richard Bach
Rainier Flight Service is proud to honor our clients realizing
their goals and dreams. Thank you for allowing us to guide you
along the way.
Solo Flight
Flying solo is the
first major accomplishment in the flight training process.
At this point the student can fly an airplane unassisted in
the local area without an instructor onboard. The excitement
and enthusiasm for reaching this milestone is one of the
most rewarding experiences in flight training.

Private Pilot
Upon completion of primary training, most people
become a Private Pilot.
You can now take passengers and fly anywhere in the country,
even international, completely on your own. Only 0.1% of the
US population holds a pilot certificate so welcome to a very
elite community!

Instrument Rating
If weather hinders your ability to fly (as it often does
in Seattle) an
instrument
rating is the next step. This additional training allows
you to fly solely by reference to cockpit instruments and
use the Air Traffic Control System to its fullest extent.

Commercial
Becoming a commercial pilot is
more than just skill and knowledge. It is about
professionalism, discipline and experience. A commercial
pilot certificate allows you to be paid for flying and begin
a piloting career.

Flight Instructor
It is
one thing to learn how to fly, another to teach it.
To become a flight instructor you must pass one of
the most difficult FAA exams, which 90% of
applicants don’t on the first try. The knowledge and
skill required to become a
flight
instructor is one of the highest accomplishments
in aviation.
