The Horizon Air Pilot Development Program gives you a defined path to start your career at Horizon Air. After successful completion of Private Pilot training, applicants are interviewed for Development Program. Successful applicants complete training at Rainier Flight and either gain experience as an Instructor or fly with a Part 135 Program partner. Upon successful completion of training and meeting ATP or R-ATP minimums applicants begin training at Horizon Air as a First Officer.
Candidates may apply six weeks before school visits through the Horizon Air job portal at no cost. Applicants will be contacted for interview once eligibility is verified.
Eligibility Requirements
Once accepted into Development Program, candidates receive a flight training stipend of $12,500: $5,000 after Instrument and $7,500 after Commerical to be applied to training costs in exchange for a two-year commitment flying for Horizon Air.
After successfully completing you Certified Flight Instructor training, candidates will gain experience working as a CFI at Rainier Flight Service while updating Horizon Air on your progress towards the ATP/R-ATP minimum requirements.
Upon meeting ATP or R-ATP minimums, candidates are given a class date at Horizon Air. New hire bonuses are provided upon successful completion of ground school and may be applied towards flight training costs.
New hire training consists of twelve weeks ground, simulator and flight training culminating in ATP exam to fly the Q400 or E175 aircraft as a professional pilot.

How it Works:
Yes, you may apply at any time after obtaining your Private Pilot Certificate. Any previous experience will be prorated and program cost provided upon acceptance into Pilot Development program.
