I moved to the greater Seattle area when I was very young from Germany. In Europe, both my parents had worked for a major airline before moving to the United States and loved the industry. So naturally, I grew up with aviation influences all around me. In fact, one of my favorite childhood memories is of my father and I sitting at the airport and naming the airplane types as they thundered by. This turned in to a hobby for every trip we took and continues till this day. Growing up, I was also lucky enough to be able to fly across the globe to visit friends and family in Europe. A highlight of each trip was always the flights to and from our destinations. Gazing out of the window downwards to a bustling world down below, I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a pilot.
As I got older, my parents supported my ambitions to join the aviation industry. I began my studies at the University of Washington while working part time at Sea-Tac airport for an airline. My time at the airline showed me that my true passion was in the skies. Now that I have my pilot certificates, I enjoy flying around the Pacific Northwest. The view from the skies always makes me appreciate the area that we live in.
When I am not in the cockpit, I love to travel around the world. No destination is too far. I also enjoy hiking, skiing or snowboarding all around the Cascades.
I’m very excited to be part of the Rainier instructor team! I look forward to teach the new generation of pilots and pass on my passion for aviation.
