I have been exposed to aviation for most of my life. My father was a pilot, who flew corporate, and I remember flying with him in a Cessna Citation when I was very young. My dad wanted me to pursue a career as a pilot, but my interest in aviation gave way to automobiles when I started driving. I developed a strong interest in cars, and pursued a career in the automobile industry. I worked for BMW for over 11 years, building a career within the same company.
My desire to pursue aviation started fairly recently. It all began when a coworker invited me to ride along on a formation flight with a group of Beechcraft Bonanzas in Bremerton, WA. I agreed to the flight nervously, as I knew that I was somewhat prone to motion sickness. After going on the flight, I was hooked. As my interest in aviation grew, I started meeting a lot of great people in the aviation community. It didn’t take long before flying became my new passion, and I knew shortly after starting training that I wanted to pursue a career in aviation.
Outside aviation, I enjoy the many things our beautiful state has to offer. Some of my favorite hobbies include salmon fishing, four wheeling, working on cool cars and trucks, boating, and grilling in the back yard. Above all, I enjoy spending time with my wife.
I am happy to be a part of the team of instructors at Rainier, and look forward to helping aspiring pilots achieve their goals and enjoy all that aviation has to offer.
