Hello, my name is Brian and I am a flight instructor at this great institution. I’ve always had a fascination with just about anything with an engine, from cars to snowmobiles to boats to airplanes. Growing up in Montana, my parents told me that when I was 3 or 4 years old I would already be pointing out cars, saying, “Hey, there goes a Firebird!”
When I was younger, I wanted to become a pilot because I thought airplanes were cool. As an adult, I still do but a strong desire to see the world is also a big part of why I chose this career. Having a mom from Germany as well as having served in the military has only cultivated my desire to see and experience as much as possible.
I first started on my aviation journey in 2002. I was on my way to getting a degree in Aviation Science and achieved my Private at this time, but the climate in the aviation industry was quickly deteriorating due to the after shock of 9/11. I decided to discontinue due to the cost of the education and the fact that most of the pilots graduating ahead of me were not finding jobs. That would end up becoming my one regret in life. Luckily, I was finally able to make things work and begin the pursuit again. I haven’t looked back since!
Other than aviation, I’m really into cars and enjoy track days and off-road days. I actually go to dealerships afterhours to look at cars for fun. I also love to explore Seattle, spend time in the mountains, listen to music, try new restaurants, and go boating in the summer. I do what it takes to enjoy life!
