I was lucky enough to grow up in an aviation family. My dad was a pilot for USAir (later American Airlines) and my step-mom still flies for American. I always knew this was what I wanted to do. My older brother got me my first discovery flight as a birthday present when I was 13 and I was hooked. It was a bit of a process and a winding road to finally get where I am today, but I'm so glad I kept pursuing my dream.

I grew up in Minnesota just west of Minneapolis, then after highschool, I moved to Pennsylvania, spending time in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. I met my wife in Philadelphia and we moved to Phoenix so she could begin graduate school. We both got a little tired of the oven-like heat and, after visiting my brother in Seattle a few times, decided to settle down here.

In my free time, my wife and I love to go camping and explore parts of the Pacific Northwest we haven't seen yet. We've also enjoyed being able to rent an airplane to head up to the San Juan Islands, out to the coast, or just up to Port Townsend for a quick slice of pie.
