Hello! My name is Jaynani, you can also call me Nani. I was born and raised here in the PNW, but my family is from Oahu, Hawaii. I originally planned to have a life-long career in the non-profit sector. I went to school in Oregon, then got my masters degree in Massachusetts. But in the most unexpected of seasons, life nudged me back towards my childhood dream of being a pilot.

I came home to the PNW, completed my aviation education, received my flight instructor certificate in Arizona, and visited many places along the journey. Although I didn’t grow up around other pilots, throughout my flight education I had the best instructors willing to guide, encourage, challenge, and cheer me on. Now, I hope to do the same for others! As an instructor here at Rainier, I want to share in that joy and help you accomplish your aviation dreams as well.

If I’m not staring at the sky looking at planes (or flying one!), you can find me hiking, biking, climbing, lounging, laughing, playing, traveling, ukulele-ing (it’s a word, I promise), and just about any other “ing” that is rejuvenating and fun!
