Kat York Bio
I began my aviation journey at 19, working the front desk at my local FBO in Florida. I was immediately enamored by the exciting atmosphere and tight-knit community around me. I jumped at any opportunity to ride along on flights, never imagining someday that I could be a pilot myself. I enjoyed it so much that as I went through college, I continued to seek out opportunities to continue working in the aviation industry. I gained experience by working in varying capacities, such as a baggage handler for an airline, customer service for a flight school, to spending my summers in Alaska working for a floatplane service, and eventually as a remote pilot operator for the FAA. Once I started working in Alaska, getting the chance to fly along with the company on wilderness tours, I started to realize aviation wasn’t just a job for me, it had become an inseparable part of my life. After 5 years of working on the sidelines, I moved from Florida to Juneau, Alaska and started my own flight training adventure.
Now, as an instructor at Rainier, I would love to share my experience with you and help you reach your own aviation goals!
