Hey! I’m Matthew!

Growing up I had the honor of hearing my grandpa tell stories about his experiences as a pilot in the US Navy during WWII.

Years later, inspired by those stories and his service, I enlisted in the US Army as an Airborne Infantryman in 2005. After separating from the Army, my wife and I moved to the PNW in 2012 and almost 10 years later, we’re still in awe of the natural beauty here.

I decided to pursue a career in aviation after talking with several friends of mine that are pilots. The flexibility of their schedules, the ability to work and live anywhere in the country or world, and the experiences they were describing excited me. I found a college with a flight program in early 2018, uprooted my life, and pursued this new adventure.

When I’m not flying, you can find me playing board games with friends, preparing for an F1 race weekend, or in the kitchen inevitably cooking twice the amount of food I need.

I enjoy showing people that haven’t had the experience of flying in a small plane what a thrill it can be and working with students to achieve their goals.
