I like to say I inherited the aviation gene through my family. I grew up around all things airplanes, and knew I wanted to be a pilot from a young age. One of my earliest memories is being in the flight line at a Thunderbirds air show, and sitting in a C130 cockpit. 

As I got older I got distracted, and tried being an aeronautical engineer– until I realized they don’t actually get to fly the planes they design. Next I went into business and did that for several years, but all the while the call of an airplane was still in the back of my mind. 

Finally answering the call, I became a flight attendant first, shying away from the work and cost that piloting required, and believing I had missed my chance when I was younger. Well a chance came, and I took it, and I’m so grateful I did. 

My aviation journey has been more roundabout, but it has already gifted me with seeing so many sides of this wonderful industry and lifestyle. That’s something I hope to share with you as you work on your pilot journey. 

In my free time, I enjoy playing and making music, writing, biking, and going to the beach for kayaking and sun.
