Instructor Bio
As a child, my family often flew overseas. Peering out of an aircraft bound for another world; yearning to learn the phenomenon known as flight, I would approach pilots to learn more about their responsibilities. These opportunities inspired me to become a pilot.
I hail from Massachusetts, and have been flying on the East Coast since I was 17 years old. My name is Miguel Trilla Goldfield, a Puerto Rican Jew (soy Boricua). I studied at Bridgewater State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Science. During the summers I worked for Atlas Air Inc. as a systems operations intern, and for Tradewinds Aviation, a charter airline as a flight operations intern. Since then, I have worked for Piedmont Airlines as a Gate Agent while I obtained all of my aviation certifications.
My journey to becoming a pilot was a long and arduous one. As the first pilot in my family, it was up to me navigate aviation on my own. Since becoming a CFI and CFII my objective has been to be a resource, a mentor, and to provide quality flight instruction to students helping them achieve their goals.
Besides flying, I am actively involved with aviation groups many of which support general aviation, and safety in aviation such as Experimental Aircraft Association, National Association of Flight Instructors, and the FAA Safety Team. I also compete at the Olympic level in archery, have a love for artisan coffee, and gaming.
I look forward to flying with you, and supporting your journey!
