My aviation story begins in the automotive world, yeah… weird, I know. I grew up in a racing family, Watching Formula 1 every weekend and going to the race track every other day to watch my dad race his BMW E30. During the bigger races, they would have C17s and C130s doing fly-overs and I still remember the awe in my 7 year-old brain watching those massive planes power through the sky. From that point on, I loved playing Microsoft Flight Simulator and visiting the Museum of Flight every chance I got, however, I never really considered being a pilot.

Once I left high school, I attended the University of Washington for about a year, but none of the degree programs there truly had me interested. So I decided to take a discovery flight out of Boeing Field. It’s safe to say that from that point, I was completely hooked into the world of aviation. I started my training the day after that and enrolled in an aeronautics degree program with Embry-Riddle University. Eventually, I transferred to the Alaska Ascend Program and received all my ratings in the Central Oregon area, gaining lots of invaluable experience.

When I’m not flying to get a $100 burger or instructing, you can probably find me hiking in the cascades or racing/instructing in go-karts and race cars around the Pacific Northwest.
